In episode 310, Mike and James continue looking at the evidence around back pain and focus on imaging. Unnecessary early imaging not only does nothing but makes things worse. Explaining things to patients seems to be as successful as imaging. When it comes to appropriate imaging red flags are key. At the end of the podcast Mike and James end up waving a white flag in frustration with the evidence.

In episode 307, Mike and James engage Tina in yet another discussion and this time it is all about using lower doses of isotretinoin in the treatment of acne. Yet again, James’ approach to using lower doses wins the day and Mike and Tina bow in deference to James’ omnipotence – at least they do in his dreams.
